Family

Aloft

This is my theme for the day. It has to be. I am exhausted from running too many things, and there is snow on the ground, and all I want to do is be one of those people who is doing wild piles of outdoorsy activities with her husband and kids.  But, not today.  My youngest melted down after a few minutes of our early family “fun time,” and I was relegated to the car with screaming 3 year old.

Now, I am supposed to be highly creative for a client, uh three, cook dinner, then give tubbies and clean the house. It is now 3:33 exactly, and I am playing hooky for five minutes, and for the first time today, I feel “aloft.”

Best thing when under pressure is to take a few minutes to check in with myself— and maybe, just maybe— rise

who I want to be
who I am
