What I’m up to [updated June 22, 2026]
- Raising kids
- Hiking and doing hot yoga while avoiding running again ;)
- Working up a business plan for emmpress and my freewheeling creative work – except I think business plans are only good to impress bankers and I’m not interested in impressing bankers per se.
- Envisioning an ideal weekly schedule, work space, and in-person work community.
- Leaning into vocabulary, prepositions, and word order: the nuances and experience of said things.
- Making digital markup art on my phone for Instagram.
- Since I like to describe nuances– and now I have “someone” to do as I’d like– bossing Claude.
- Evolving my creative website emmpress.com to be a better fit for my creative needs and trying to speed it up while continuing to write.
- Applying for “job-jobs.” Why? Because “steady” income and benefits would feel pretty good to relieve inner pressure right now. And, I’d like to talk with real people, in person, more often.
- Working on Color Scope, a patented astrological color profile system which includes setting up Claude, running ads, producing content, and supporting the founder.
- Experimenting with site-internal and external search (SEO).
- Planting tomatoes, basil, and nasturtium out back.
- Helping my mom get used to her new home and have some fun.
- Staying in touch with relatives and friends more than ever.
